ZUMBINI INSTRUCTION

What is Zumbini?

Created by Zumba® and BabyFirst, Zumbini™ is an early childhood education program for children ages 0-4 and their caregivers. The Zumbini program has been carefully designed to promote cognitive, social, behavioral and motor skill development for young children at a critical age, all while creating the ultimate bonding experience for them and their families.

Zumbini is the first early childhood education program to create a true "360°" experience, with live classes, the "Zumbini Time" interactive TV show on BabyFirst TV, and take-home music, books and toys that families receive when they sign up for a Zumbini class.

We offer Zumbini and Zumbini for Schools (Preschool/Daycare)

The Zumbini program is NOT a fitness class. It is an early childhood development class. The Zumbini program is designed to stimulate
learning, inspire dance and movement, and strengthen the bond between parent and child. Zumbini strives to bring early childhood
education to families around the world, while making the experience fun for both children and their parents.

Zumbini for Schools

The original Zumbini program is adapted for pre-schools, daycares and all facilities looking to offer Zumbini classes without caregivers.

It is a fun yet effective curriculum that promotes cognitive, social, emotional and motor skill development. The difference between the traditional Zumbini class and the “Zumbini for Schools” class is in format rather than educational concepts or philosophy. Each session includes a Zumbini® Bundle for each participant (an original songbook and music to continue the fun at home).

Class Length

A traditional Zumbini class, appropriate for a caregiver-child class, is approximately 45-minutes long. For preschool, 25-30 minutes is optimal.

Session Length

For a typical caregiver/child setting, we suggest session lengths between 6-12 weeks. However, a school may want to offer sessions by the quarter, semester, or trimester, based on the facility’s enrollment schedule. If sessions are offered by semester, session length may be 15-17 weeks.

Age Segmentation

The majority of preschools and daycares separate their classrooms by age. In the traditional Zumbini format, we encourage a mixed-age class. However, in the preschool or daycare setting, age divisions are the norm and it is highly possible each school may include more than one class to two or even three different age groups. While this may seem contradictory to the Zumbini mixed age philosophy, it is standard practice in the daycare and preschool setting!

Although the traditional Zumbini format is created for ages 0-4, the “Zumbini for Schools” program is tailored for preschool ages, 18 months to 5 years old.

What is included in a Zumbini Bundle?

  • Song Lyrics - Each song has a dedicated lyric page, making it easy to sing along!

  • Corresponding Visual Cues - The animations on each page reflect the lyrics of the song, promoting cognitive development and vocabulary!

  • Parent Tips - Useful parent tips for fun Zumbini® activities at home!

  • 20 Original Songs - Take home the same music you heard in class to listen at home or in the car!

  • Plush toy – Treat for your little one.

ZUMBINI Curriculum

A fun yet effective curriculum, that promotes cognitive, social, emotional and motor skill development.

Emotional Development

Music helps children identify what different emotions may “sound” and “feel” like. The variety of rhythms in the class, create intentional shifts in the child’s mood—some boosting their energy levels while others help them relax.

Fine + Gross Motor skill Development

Vibrant movement, choreography, and instrument play throughout the class activate both small and large muscle groups, promoting children's overall physical development.

Social Skill Development

Connecting with their peers through dynamic song, dance, and instrument play — our classes offer a high level of social interaction in which the children learn age-appropriate social skills.

Cognitive Development

Music and movement stimulate neural connections in the brain, especially in young children. Reason and logic are used when identifying music patterns and playing instruments, while the repetition of sounds and syllables are known to enhance a child’s language development.
